About Us

Little Beans is jointly owned by Sebrina Drew and Tamsin Ledger. They met about 8 years ago when Sebrina was childminding Tamsin’s second child and the two developed a good friendship. Tamsin was working locally in Poole as a property Solicitor and Sebrina ran her own child minding business from her home. Sebrina had always had a vision of taking her business to the next level and wanted to acquire premises to operate from. Tamsin says, “Sebrina has professionalism, drive and unrelenting passion for childcare with a focus on setting high standards creating a stimulating but natural free-flow environment for children. I knew that she had what it takes to deliver a quality day care”. Sebrina describes Tamsin as “motivated and enthusiastic, providing experience and knowledge from her role as a solicitor, applying and adapting this to the demands of setting up and running our business.”

They recognised that their different skill sets complemented each other making them a good team. The concept of Little Beans was created. In 2014  they found the Fernside Road premises and firmly committed themselves to forming a day care business together working hard to turn the premises into a great setting for children and putting in place systems to deliver a high quality child care provision. Not long after opening Fernside, they found the Garland Road premises where the opportunity and space offered was too good to be turned down so the two took on another project renovating the space to create a stimulating and fun open plan setting. Unfortunately, the Fernside Road setting was closed in 2020 for redevelopment into residential flats but Sebrina and Tamsin are seeking alternative premises.

Sebrina Drew - Director

I have over 15 years of experience in the childcare sector and I have five gorgeous kids of my own. I lead a great team and strive to deliver energy and enthusiasm in all that we do at Little Beans. In my view, children should feel safe, secure and happy and be given all the support they need to fulfil their potential. This includes providing children with a broad range of knowledge and skills; quality and consistency of care where staff are supported through ongoing training and development; building positive relationships and treating each child as a unique individual.”

Tamsin Ledger - Director

"I have three bundles of energy at home and my youngest used to attend Little Beans. I bring the ‘parent’s perspective’ to my role as co-owner. I am on hand to offer support and management to the team as well as to parents. I work in the background to ensure that we deliver a welcoming and stimulating environment for children where they enjoy learning and grow with confidence.”

Mission Statement

"We continue to work hard together to ensure we achieve the best outcomes for all our little beans, continuing to evolve and develop and always striving to improve our offering.”
